The 12th Loser

They're making this big hoopla about this 12th man gimmick they got going on over here. Texas A&M, which has trademarks to the 12th Man theme is threatening legal actions and the editorials I've seen on the local news are challenging Seahawk owner Paul Allen to put up the money to keep the monicer.

Personally I just don't get it, or see why its important. I guess that explanation is three fold. 1) It's not an original idea, the same concept is used in basketball and other NFL teams have used it in the past, but they quit when, you guessed it, Texas A&M threatened legal action. 2) As a Steeler fan I do feel like my actions can directly or indirectly affect the teams play. However, I understand that I alone do not bear this responsibility. I'm one of 18 million fans or so that feel the same way, so I'm somewhere around the 14,700,000th Man. 3) They're shitty fans, why are they proud of this?

This is a blog about the Pittsburgh Pirates. My vision: to write about the games at the games.
